Tazewell is a passion project that encompasses a lot of my interests--clothing design, music, Southern Americana. Tazewell is a tiny town (population 2451) in the northeast corner of Tennessee, and I imagine it was even smaller when my father was born there on a tobacco farm during the Great Depression. Tazewell Clothes is my love letter to the hard working people of the South, their culture, and the industries that supported them in the mid-20th Century. To be clear, this isn't about "America First" xenophobia, "Lost Cause" historical revisionism, or even something as trivial as "menswear." This is me coming to terms with the fact that I'm from one of the most culturally important and complicated regions in the world, and I'm quite proud of it.
